Starting Your Online Job Search

Decide What You Want to Do
It's nearly impossible to find a job if you don't know what you want to do. .
"What are you looking for?" is the first question you will be asked when you say that you are job hunting. People want to know what you want so they can help you find it.
Giving a generic response like, "I'll take anything!' or "Working with people," is not useful.
If you don't tell people specifically what you want, they will be unable to effectively help you (and they may wonder how seriously you are looking for a job). You will be wasting your time, and everyone else's time, too,  And the result is often a longer job search for you.
Yes, it MAY feel like you are "keeping all your options open" when you say you'll take "anything."

REALITY:  You will have a more focused - and a more successful - job search when you know what you want, and you go after it consistently.

Not knowing what you want to do is the NUMBER ONE MISTAKE job seekers make!
